Getting into the holiday SPIRIT!

In years past it hasn't taken much for me to get into the holiday spirit. This year, it's a different story. I only put up about half of our decorations, only one of 2 trees & half the lights---even though we went and bought new ones. I'm still not quite sure what it was, it just took longer than normal for me to get there. I think it all started to turn when I had the boys take their annual "Twas the Night Before Christmas" picture.

Although still humoring me with this picture, I did have to up the bribery.

Later that morning we hosted our friends over for our annual Christmas gathering so the spirit was building. What solidified it for me was my mom coming into town. There's just something about having your mom around. She came into town for our annual shopping trip & we capped the evening off with showing her a few more lights around the city. We started with the Magic Tree, it's become an instant favorite of mine...

We then made our annual pit stop at Strouds---we just wanted the cinnamon rolls & proceeded to Deanna Rose for their lights show. Think drive-in movie style. Grandma Sara was pretty impressed that Kaden knew basically every word to most of the songs they featured.

Our way home we hit up a few of the neighborhoods around us and topped the evening off with Grandma Sara and Kaden reading in front of the Christmas tree.

Christmas spirit was at a high.
