Splish, Splash

Bath time is one of my favorite parts of the week. We are an-every-other-night-type-of-bath-night of family (only when it comes to the boys) unless its been one of those dirty play days at day care and then there is no avoiding the tub.

There are a number of reasons why I love bath time.

First, it is a confined space where both boys are perfectly content playing with one another. No running around chasing or tormenting the dogs. No dragging out every book on the shelf. Just two boys in a tub.

Secondly, they don't seem to fight hardly at all when it comes to sharing during bath time. I am not sure why because most of the time, one of them wants what the other has. Siblings are great and I love having two boys but I seriously need two of EVERYTHING.

Thirdly, we sing nursery rhymes. Wheels on the Bus, Here We Go Month to Month, ABCs, Itsy Bitsy Spider-the list goes on. We sing them loud & we sing them proud.

Fourth of all--and more recently, I get to sit back and listen to Kaden's imagination hard at work. For Christmas they received a big boat for bath time and it came with 4 fish but the only two that matter are the RED fish and the BLUE fish. Tonight Kaden took the red fish (of course, the kid is obsessed with the color red) and he gave the blue fish to Logan. He then proceeded with the following storyline:

"Logie, you be the daddy fish. I be the mommy fish."

"Hi Daddy. What's up?"

"We just being good & helping people."

"Oh. Ok."

"I gotta go. I got to get you a tea."

I wish I had video from this but my phone was downstairs and I just knew that as soon as I left the room that the story would be done. They would be onto something else. So I sat back and I just listened and smiled.

I did however have my phone handy when Kaden wanted to "write" his name. The kid is smart and working really hard on mastering all his letters. He might even be able to teach some of the older kids how to make a "K".
